The Impossible Dream of Mrs Alice Sheridan
I hesitate to share this knowledge, but there is a truly frightening video of Mrs Alice Sheridan, mother of Mr Tommy of that ilk, singing. You can see it by clicking here. Before doing this, you should be warned that watching it is rather like attending the wedding of a stranger in Glasgow; or possibly the funeral...

Is it wise - given Tommy's recent troubles - for someone in the audience to be holding up a placard upon which in huge letters it is written "Go-go?" Is it an ad for a local massage parlour or poledancing emporium?
Good thing she didn't sing 'oldest swinger in town'
Mr. Elder,
The depth of the Sheridan matriarch's quixotic faith in her wean's potential makes one wonder what would be the best strategy for facing her off in a stairheid rammy.
I would imagine cannon might do the trick...or lightsabers...
I saw the video a while back but didn't realise it was Tommy's mam. You can see where he gets it from.
What a marvellous old chanteuse. Fortunately that time-honoured proletarian bugbear, 'elitism', doesn't apply to the vocally gifted.
